Kindergarten Family
Big Beginnings Start Here.
Starting kindergarten is a big milestone—for scholars and their families. At RISE, we make those first steps feel a little smaller.
Our kindergarten experience is intentionally designed to give young scholars the security, relationships, routines, and support they need as they adjust to school while building the academic and character foundation that will carry them through the years ahead.
01 · Learning
Learning at RISE
Big expectations. Small-group support.
Kindergarten is where we begin setting the tone for the academic challenge—and the reward—that comes with being a RISE scholar.
Small-group instruction gives our teachers opportunities to meet scholars where they are, recognize their individual strengths, and provide targeted support where they need it most. Additional literacy support, including our Fletcher Academy, helps strengthen foundational reading skills during these important early years.
From the beginning, scholars are introduced to high expectations in an environment where they are known, encouraged, and supported.
The academic growth RISE is known for doesn't happen overnight. We begin building those habits from day one.
02 · Classroom
A Classroom That Feels Like Their Own
A smaller world inside their big new adventure.
For a young scholar, starting school can feel like stepping into a very big world. Our kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed to make that world feel a little smaller.
Scholars spend their day with a consistent teacher and a familiar group of classmates, giving their teacher the opportunity to build close relationships with each child while scholars develop early friendships, social skills, and a strong sense of belonging.
Even the physical environment supports our youngest Eagles. Bathrooms located within the classroom provide additional comfort and security, while a dedicated kindergarten playground gives scholars a safe, age-appropriate place to run, imagine, play, and simply be kids.
03 · Independence
Growing Independence— Together
New experiences feel different when you don't face them alone.
We don't expect kindergarten scholars to arrive already knowing how to “do school.” We help them learn.
As scholars become familiar with their new school environment, they move through their day alongside the same classmates and trusted adults. Whether they are heading to lunch, specials, a field trip, or another part of the school, that consistency provides support while they learn new routines and gradually build confidence and independence.
Along the way, scholars practice taking responsibility, navigating new spaces, building friendships, solving problems, and becoming increasingly confident members of their school community.
Little by little, the big new adventure of kindergarten begins to feel like home.
04 · Character
Character Starts Here
Building great scholars and great people.
Academic excellence is only part of what it means to RISE.
Each month, our scholars learn about and explore a new character trait and have opportunities to demonstrate it throughout their school day. For our youngest Eagles, character development becomes something they can see and practice—showing responsibility, practicing self-control, persevering when something feels difficult, helping a friend, and learning how their choices affect the people around them.
We also make time to celebrate one another. Scholars learn to recognize their own growth, cheer for their classmates, and understand that success is something we can build together.
These early lessons help establish the character, confidence, and habits our scholars will carry with them as they grow.
05 · Experiences
Field Trips & Experiences
The world is part of their classroom.
Some of the most memorable learning happens when scholars have an opportunity to experience something for themselves.
Field trips and special experiences give our kindergarten scholars opportunities to explore beyond their classroom, make connections to what they are learning, and experience exciting new “firsts” alongside their classmates.
Each experience is another opportunity to spark curiosity, build confidence, and bring learning to life.
